Music and beer – a match made in heaven. Speaking of which, Dogfish Head has announced that they’ll be brewing a commemorative beer this month in honor of Pearl Jam’s 20th anniversary. The Belgian-style “Faithfull Ale” is a nod to the band’s first album “Ten,” which debuted in the August of 1991. At a current market share of 34.7%, MolsonCoors is the Canadian beer market leader. Their flagship product, Coors Light, surpassed Budweiser as Canada’s top selling beer in 2010. Nevertheless, the quest for domination is never complete, and MolsonCoors is looking to pump some new life into its Canadian brands by beefing up exposure and expanding their product lines. Their newest product, which was unvelied earlier this week is Molson Canadian 67 Sublime – a low-calorie, lemon-lime flavored beer. Apparently this has been tested on an Ontario audience. Carlsberg: No Longer “Probably the Best Beer in the World”

Carlsberg is undergoing a major re-branding effort to help push sales for the Danish brewer. At the forefront of this effort, Carlsberg abandoned its slogan, “probably the best beer in the world” and is hoping that this change will help double the brand’s profits by 2015. In Russia, Carlsberg sees beer market falling faster in 2010

The CEO of Carlsberg has said Russia’s beer market could shrink by up to 13% in 2010 following a tax hike in January, according to a report. The three-fold tax rise on beer will cause volume sales in the Russian market to fall by between 10% and 13% this year, Jorgen Buhl Rasmussen said in an interview with the Dow Jones newswire yesterday (21 June). Molson Coors To Launch ‘Clear Beer For Women’

In attempt to capture a greater percentage of the UK female drinking audience, Molson Coors is gearing up to launch a clear beer for the ladies. This is Molson’s second go at a clear product. Last year, the company trialled a product flavored with green tea and dragon fruit that had a similar taste to an alcopop.
